Frank Parchman, past President of the Union Hill Water
Association Board of Trustees, passed away
peacefully on April 3, 2013 in
Seattle. Frank and his family have been
long-time residents of the
Redmond area having moved here in 1986. Frank had a keen interest in getting involved
in the
community, and this interest led him to seek and secure election to the
Association Board of Trustees in
February, 1999. He served as President of the Board from 2000,
until his passing. Frank’s legacy as a
Board member, as President at the Association, and as a resident in the
neighborhood served by the
Association, was one of tireless advocacy for our
customers and the community. His goal
was to
maintain the high water quality from our groundwater resource that we so
cherish, and to plan for and
carry out the steps necessary to assure the
Association of continued uninterrupted and adequate water
supply. Frank excelled in forward-thinking that benefitted
the Association by his canny ability to quickly
and clearly identify potential
threats to our water supply and water quality. He elevated the level of
thinking within the Board, along with the Association’s engineering, hydrogeologic and legal consultants.
As members of the Association we have much to
learn from, and live up to, due to Frank’s leadership of
the Association. He will long be remembered for his unwavering
spirit as we all strive to carry on his legacy.
